The COVID-19 pandemic caused correctional facilities across the US to lock down. Outside programs, specifically substance abuse recovery groups, were often closed out completely.

Correctional facilities in the Denver metro area were no exception. Following the end of the pandemic, many facilities have slowly reopened to outside volunteer organizations.
